Summary of Educational Philosophy

The Board of Trustees and SABIS^® believe that strong connections between home, school and community are critical to the positive growth and development of our children. Therefore, HCCS will continue to place particular emphasis on:

Building close and respectful relationships with the families of the students it serves;

Promoting active parental participation in the life of the school;

Providing continuing education for parents; and

Encouraging community service within the school and the broader community.

The school facility will be open and available on nights and weekends to allow HCCS to schedule activities in furtherance of these goals.

HCCS will reflect the rich cultural diversity of the Holyoke community by implementing a specially-designed SABIS^® curriculum developed especially for Holyoke, offering programs and activities for students and parents, and hiring a diverse school staff.
